Green cement project acquires environmental best practice approval

Last week our green cement project acquired formal approval of its compliance with one of the most respected standards for developing offset projects, the Voluntary Carbon Standard. The project is expected to generate 500,000 tonnes of carbon emission reductions each year.

The audit (formally known as "validation") was carried out by leading environmental verifier, SGS, an entity that has UN accreditation to validate regulatory GHG emission offset projects that are implemented in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol.

The validation process, which has taken around 6 months to complete, provides customers with the much needed assurance that any offsets they buy from CarbonAided are only created by projects that are implemented in accordance with environmental best practice.
