Creating "real" emissions savings
CarbonAided takes exceptional steps to ensure that its offsets are of the highest ethical quality and fully compliant with international regulations and best practice.
CarbonAided is only involved in the creation and sale of offsets that are:
- Created by projects that are environmentally "additional" - that is deliver a real reduction in GHG emissions
- Independently verified by an accredited entity
- Fully compliant with at least one of the best practice standards for developing offset projects (Clean Development Mechanism, Joint Implementation, Gold Standard and Voluntary Carbon Standard).
We are an ethical business with strict codes of conduct. In addition to ensuring that our offset projects are developed to the highest possible standard we
- Do not develop offset projects that may not create a permanent reduction in GHG emissions (e.g. forestry projects)
- Do not develop offset projects that have the potential to damage the environment (e.g. nuclear and hydro projects involving dams)
- Have a voluntary commitment to donate 10% of our profits to fund climate change adaptation initiatives around the world.
